Tensura S4 Episode 6 – Japanese Fans Lose It Over the Lecherous Old Man Lusting After Rimuru, Glenda's Bungled Assassination, and Maribel's 'Ten Years Too Late' Strategy
Overview
Tensura S4 Episode 6 aired on May 16, 2026. This episode advances the Western Holy Church / Roaring Sea Glenda assassination arc and features Luminous personally executing the Sunday Master Granbel of the Seven Days Clergy. But the moment that broke Japanese 5ch was an old man (revealed to be one of the Clergy) openly leering at Rimuru's slime body with lecherous eyes — Rimuru's flustered reaction sent the thread into hysterics.
This article translates Japanese fan reactions from the 5ch anime board "Hoshoku 112" thread (捕食112). Topics include: the viral "old man's lust" moment, the Roaring Sea Glenda's incompetent assassination attempt (the assassin literally sticks around the crime scene), the Western Holy Church / Seven Days Clergy lore dump, Maribel's economic conquest strategy revealed, and the author's confirmed canon line that "if Maribel had been born 10 years earlier, Rimuru would have lost."

This is the official discussion thread for the TV anime That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Season 4). Please refrain from spoilers, trolling, and live-posting during broadcast. Previous threads: Hoshoku 109/110/111 linked above. Official: ten-sura.com
The assassin who tried to kill the Ingrasia prince is Glenda of the Roaring Sea. She's also the one who ditched Sale and fled during the fight against Diablo. She used to serve under Hinata, but now she serves Granbel Rosso (a.k.a. the Sunday Master Gran). Posting this reference for anyone unclear on Glenda's allegiance and her relationship with Hinata: https://i.imgur.com/vjC6cji.jpeg
Doesn't look like the latest info but I take it Glenda has now betrayed [Hinata] and Gran is also an enemy. By the way, how much of a threat was 'Calamity-class' supposed to be?
reflects relationships as of anime season 3. Calamity-class is a tier below Clayman.
Thanks. The Three Martial Sages couldn't match Diablo or Ranga — so where would 'Calamity-class' rank in current Tempest?
Thanks for the new thread, OP. And re: >>11, so all of the Seven Days Clergy had names. I couldn't tell who was who from their designs, but Luminous personally taking out the Sunday Master Gran was confirmed, right?
Gran was the one left standing alone, and the Hinata-loving Cardinal took him out.
FYI the official site does list all Seven Days names and their VAs, but it's still hard to tell at a glance: https://www.ten-sura.com/character/seven_days_clergy
The site calls them 'transcendent beings' but watching them after seeing current Tempest's lineup, they don't seem like much.
The assassin botches the assassination, gets into a whole confrontation, AND THEN sticks around at the crime scene up to the formal joining ceremony — this is straight-up comedy. Plus everyone knows it was an assassination attempt and they still try to kill the prince again. Rimuru's enemies are way too dumb.
I laughed my ass off when it turned out the old man was after Rimuru's body. www
Is that geezer the first to look at Rimuru with sexual eyes? I laughed at how panicked Rimuru was.
Tempest has gotten so overpowered that the human side now just looks like worthless slugs. Their top warrior, Hinata, is on Rimuru's side too.
It was a fun episode, but a head of state kicking and breaking the council chamber table? That's seriously not okay.
Maribel lived out her past life fully, then was reborn into this world as a baby — so she's a 'normal' reincarnation with past-life memories. Masayuki, by contrast, just suddenly got pulled in while walking down the street.
Just having past-life memory in another world already isn't normal, IMO.
Maribel's past-life civilization level AND her reborn-world civilization level are both too low — she just can't keep up with modern-civilization thinking, which is why she's getting outplayed.
The author has confirmed: if she had been born 10 years earlier, her domination scheme would have been complete and Rimuru would have stood no chance. She's the kind of villain that only works by operating in the shadows — the moment she has to step out and act directly, her defeat is already guaranteed.
Human lifespan is short, so even if Maribel can't easily worm her way into Western powers this time, things will likely end up the way Rimuru wants in the end. Could she have manipulated Yuuki or Hinata if she'd been born 10 years earlier?
In that world, the people whose combat power is absolutely top-tier inversely have very low ambitions, so Maribel's plans won't go that smoothly. If we're just talking domination within human society, sure, it might be possible.
If her past life was about climbing over others to stay on top forever, I could maybe understand the arrogance. But she got slapped down at the founding ceremony for trying to trap [Rimuru], and right after that this is her attitude? I cannot understand it. If anything, being distrustful of people should make her go 'whoa Rimuru is scary, don't get close.'
What's Veldora's actual job title in Tempest, I wonder? National symbol or something? Doesn't he want some direct subordinates of his own like Diablo has by now? Not sure who'd even qualify, though.
Does that sniper attack require a direct line of sight? The council chamber only has windows up near the ceiling, so spotting someone inside from such a low tower seems impossible. If line-of-sight isn't required and bullets can warp, you could just shoot from inside the safe Empire.
Next episode: Souei-sensei's Glenda 'training' session.
The story itself does follow the original. They're even supplementing parts the main-line manga cut.
