Tensura Season 4 Episode 6 – Japanese Fans React to Maribel's Fall and Shuna's Disintegration
Overview
The latest episode of *That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime* Season 4 — the 5-cour adaptation by Eight Bit — covers the Western Holy Church grand council meeting where Maribel Rosso's schemes against Rimuru Tempest fall apart in real time. The episode features Rimuru kicking over the council table, Glenda's failed sniper attempt on the Ingrassia prince, and Shuna casually executing the Disintegration spell mid-combat (a magic circle technique that normally requires uninterrupted setup).
This article translates Japanese 5ch reactions from a 2ch.sc anime thread covering the episode. Japanese fans dissect the pacing of the 5-cour adaptation, debate whether Maribel's arc is now effectively over ("Maribel OUT. Three Primordials IN."), mourn the unrevivable Shizu-san, and roast the assassin's tactical incompetence. There's also the running observation that the Tempest side has become so absurdly overpowered that the entire human faction now looks like "trash-tier slugs."

Rimuru just lost his cool and kicked the table over like a tantrum-throwing kid? That's so lame.
It was entertaining, but a head of state kicking and breaking a council chamber table? That's a bad look.
As the leader of a country, he's definitely lacking in self-control.
Nah that was the right call. For the people of his nation.
I mean, given the demands they made, of course Rimuru-sama got pissed.
I cracked up at the old man literally targeting Rimuru's body specifically lmaooo
I want to send this old man this figure as a present https://images.goodsmile.info/... bleh
The Tempest side has gotten so strong that humans now look like absolute trash-tier slugs by comparison. Even Hinata, supposedly humanity's top fighter, is on Rimuru's side now.
I just wish Maribel had been able to put up a real fight or at least match him. Don't know how it goes in the source material though.
It's a big important council meeting — don't shove a battle scene in the middle of it, it ruins the pacing.
Trash-tier battles should wrap up in like 10 minutes. What is this, Dragon Ball?
The assassin gets caught after failing the assassination, has a whole back-and-forth, then officially joins the delegation — and she's still standing AT THE CRIME SCENE. This is basically a comedy at this point. And then they try to kill the prince even though everyone knows it was an assassination attempt. Rimuru's enemies are insanely stupid.
It's hard to tell but she didn't actually stay long. The last scene is probably timed at "sniper missed, everyone rushes to the prince asking if he's okay" — that kind of moment.
After Rimuru blocked the shot, she hesitated for a split second on whether to fire again, and that's when Souei showed up. Glenda's call to retreat from Diablo was also pretty fast. She's not THAT incompetent.
Honestly didn't expect them to go all the way to the king's appearance in episode 1.
I thought since this is 5 cours they'd take their time, but at this pace I feel like we might actually reach the Empire arc.
Quite the opposite — BECAUSE they're taking their time, we'll only make it to the Empire arc. One light novel volume per cour is a really thorough pace.
Is this where the Maribel arc ends? Her absolute-confidence brainwashing got broken easily, and every scheme she pulled at the council failed. Hard to imagine her doing anything more from here.
If Maribel exits I bet the ED changes. Next ED is probably Chloe or the three demon girls. Could even be Granbell as a wildcard.
If they can revive allies now, I want them to revive Shizu-san too. Even if it's just the final episode.
Revival, sure, but even if you summon her soul back — does Shizu-san even have a body left to inhabit?
Disintegration is the strongest attack spell in Holy Magic. As of where the anime is now, it might be the strongest spell PERIOD. The catch is you have to draw a magic circle, so if the enemy runs away while you're drawing it, it's useless. Shuna pulling off the magic circle in secret while in close combat is a S-tier technique.
Shion's battle scenes were pretty good in comparison. The Diablo and Seven Days battles had way too peaceful skies/backgrounds. Most disappointing: Frey's chest. The way they drew that was just wrong.
Hinata is fundamentally an ugly guy-face. These days she's a narrow-eyed, slanted-eyed fox-face. I don't think we're getting a smiling Hinata ever again.
Rimuru got murdered by a passing maniac in his past life and reincarnated. The other kids were summoned by mages. But Hinata was a high school girl, walked home from school, a gust of wind hit, and she ended up in this world. I don't understand that mechanism at all... she was just A HIGH SCHOOL GIRL...
